For anyone just getting started or interested in pursuing a career in makeup, Makeup 101 is the perfect introduction to the world of professional makeup artistry. Starting from the basics, we’ll take you through the entire process of creating a flawless beauty makeup, help you understand your product and tools, create a strong comprehension of face shape and how to design and create a perfect makeup application for every job.

If you have already been doing makeup, but have never received formal training, Makeup 101 is a fantastic compliment to the skills you have begun learning and practicing as a professional makeup artist, Makeup 101 can’t be beat to fine tune your technique and gain a stronger understanding of the decision making process you will use to become the best artist you can be.

Attendees will observe demonstrations, and participate in hands-on application of all makeup technique reviewed.

Industry Terminology - from tear sheets to your CV to HD, what do the key terms used on a daily basis in the business of makeup artistry mean and how do they effect you.

Your Makeup Kit - what goes into a strong and effective makeup kit. How do you edit your kit per job. What will you need to be sure to keep as a must-have in your kit.

Product and Tools - review of the types of product forms and categories you need to understand, and review of the critical tools and brushes you will use as a makeup artist.

Hygiene - what do you need to know about keeping yourself, your tools and your products in the best shape possible and how do you maintain the cleanest, safest work environment and experience for your clients.
Color Theory - the absolute necessity for every makeup artist to understand when considering every aspect of their makeup artistry. Color correction, choosing and mixing foundation shades, deciding on color product choices - all revolve around this critical aspect of makeup artistry.

Basic Makeup Theory - In the application portion of the event we will cover nearly all the work you will be required do on a daily basis including preparing the skin and understanding skin type, foundation matching and application, color correction, concealing and highlight and contour, brow shape and application, eye color application, as well as understanding the choices for eye lining, lash necessities including curling, mascara application and how to finish a look by shaping and coloring the lips as well as blushing and bronzing.
