This year, The Powder Group is thrilled to bring some of our most popular programs from trade show participation over the past few years to a brand new online program, allowing all of our community to have access to these incredible, inspirational presenters and sessions!
The program is a true celebration of career and artistic technique and will take place on Sunday, July 12 and Monday, July 13 and will come with a one month, on-demand rewatch for registered attendees.

In an industry where everything is being filmed – from motion pictures and video to bridal and red carpet events, understanding working within the realm of film is critical for all artists success. In this session, renowned film makeup artist Marietta Carter-Narcisse (A Jazzman’s Blues, Eve’s Bayou, What’s Love Got To Do With It) will take attendees through the process of design and application when creating makeup designs for film. The session will include a focus on understanding client needs, designing, applying and maintaining beauty makeup for film along with product and technique discussion and demonstration.

In this artistry and business-focused session, Aga Rhodes takes attendees through the what, when, why, and how of elevated makeup design with a major focus on client experience, products, and process that will create the perfect bridal beauty experience and look for every client, every time.
Pin Up Beauty Perfected

Some of the most popular and requested looks in makeup artistry come from the iconic look of the pin up girl. In this incredible session, beauty expert LaDonna Stein will take us though the product, tools and techniques for the client who wants to explore beauty whether for an event, stage performance, a boudoir photo shoot or a bridal look.

Red Carpet Beauty

Celebrity makeup artist Andrew Velázquez will explore the secrets of artistry for creating glamorous and modern red carpet looks. We’ll cover skin care to complexion and the nuances of highlight and contour, to color theory and the choosing and applying of color products to create a range of timeless, long wearing, beauty looks. Whether for a red carpet event or creating the most red-carpet ready bridal look, this program is for every artist looking to elevate their work in beauty. Andrew will demonstrate the essential products and techniques for this area of work and attendees will then participate in a hands-on workshop, working on each other as models.
Makeup For Global Complexions

The importance of makeup artistry as it relates to persons of color is of vital importance as a beauty industry professional. Understanding how to navigate multiple tones in skin that has more or less melanin is key. The ability to create a clean beauty look for all skin tones is an integral part of the required skill set of professional makeup artists. This program with artistry expert Dee Rouzan will provide a step-by-step process in creating a seamless look for global skin tones.

The expectation of the client is one that requires a unique approach to elevated client experience in addition to exceptional artistry. In this session, Rashida LaShawn Williams – aka The Glam Doctor – will take attendees through not only the artistry but the nuanced approach to service that has made Rashida and her team the most sought-after beauty pros in her markets.
